313 ACID LINE · v1.0.0
313 Audio · 313audio.com

A MIDI Tool for Ableton Live 12. It lives in the Generate and Transform
tabs of a MIDI clip and writes notes straight into the clip.

313 Acid Line Generator 303-style basslines with accents and slides

WHAT YOU NEED
Ableton Live 12 Suite, or Live 12 Standard with Max for Live.
macOS or Windows. Nothing else to install.

INSTALL (one minute)
  1. Find your User Library. In Live: Settings > Library > Location of User Library.
Default: Music/Ableton/User Library (Mac), Documents\Ableton\User Library (Windows).
  2. Copy the "MIDI Tools" folder from this download into the User Library.
If a "MIDI Tools" folder is already there, copy the .amxd files into its
"Max Generators" and "Max Transformations" folders instead (Live lists
third-party MIDI Tools from those two folders).
  3. Give Live a few seconds (or restart it). Open a MIDI clip, click the
Generate or Transform tab under the clip, and pick the 313 tool from the
     list at the top.

QUICK START
  313 Acid Line
Make a 1-bar MIDI clip on a mono synth (Analog, Drift or Operator with
Glide/Legato on, or our 313-303 plugin). Generate > 313 Acid Line > Apply.
Turn Accent and Slide to taste. Dice rolls a new line; note the Seed of a
line you like. Accents come out at velocity 127 and slides as overlapping
notes, so map velocity to filter envelope and turn on legato glide.
Scale "Clip" follows the clip's scale when Scale Mode is on.

TIPS
  - Every tool works on the clip's time selection. Select 2 bars to write 2 bars.
  - Changing a dial re-writes the result while the tool is in focus; Live's
    undo takes you back.
  - Same Seed + same settings = same result, so you can recall a pattern later.
